Who We Are

Youth Orientation for Development (YOD) is a non-profit, UNESCO-accredited non-governmental organization established in 2001 and registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC RC No. 14835) in 2002.

Academic Excellence & Youth Development

Education is the foundation of progress. At YOD UNESCO, we support academic initiatives that empower young minds through mentorship, skill-building programs, and leadership development. Our focus is on promoting literacy, innovation, and critical thinking—preparing the next generation to lead in various fields of human development.

Tech Outreach & Digital Skills Training

Technology is key to progress in a rapidly evolving digital world. YOD UNESCO runs tech outreach programs and digital training workshops to equip young people with essential skills in coding, data science, AI, and entrepreneurship. Our goal is to bridge the digital divide, foster innovation, and create employment opportunities in the tech industry.

Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security

Agriculture is a key driver of economic and environmental stability. Our initiatives promote sustainable farming practices, empower rural youth with modern agricultural knowledge, and encourage food security strategies. By integrating innovation into farming, we help communities achieve self-sufficiency and reduce environmental degradation.

Community Development & Forestry

We champion reforestation and conservation efforts to protect biodiversity and combat climate change. Through youth-led initiatives, we encourage sustainable land management, afforestation, and eco-friendly community development, ensuring a greener, healthier future for all.

Our Objectives

YOD’s overarching objective is to promote youth development, protection, and empowerment without discrimination. Our specific objectives include:

  1. Fostering holistic development of Nigerian youth for national progress.
  2. Contributing to societal advancement through youth mobilization and advocacy.
  3. Instilling democratic values in youth.
